I know not all of the school age kids have started school yet, but my oldest started last week. His first full week starts today. He is so excited and that is very comforting to a Mom. Especially when he is going all day and is now a big first grader! But with the comfort comes chaos. The chaos of all of the school year activities!
I have finally realized that I love to stay busy. I cannot sit still for the life of me! But that is good in my eyes. I get a lot of crap done. But on the other end, I usually put too much on my plate. For instance, this week is pretty low key, but next week is nothing but go, go, go! Brody starts preschool three days a week and I have also signed the boys up for swim lesson. Wish me luck with Brody since I have also realized that he cries and throws a fit EVERYTIME he starts anything new. Logan is also signed up for Cub Scouts which starts next week. He will actually start as a Tiger Cub. I think I am more excited than him for it! Then add to the mix that my hubby is working nights and I will be numero uno in the Mom taxi line. I mean, what else is a Mom good for if she can't drive you everywhere you need to go??
Soccer will have a break for a few weeks, which is nice, but just add that to the mix once it begins back up. I have to say though, that the routine is a oddly comforting. It makes me happy to know that I have to be certain places at certain. I also like to be able to know the schedule for the school activities so I can help out and be there to have fun with the kiddies. Man, I know you are thinking the same thing as me-when did I turn into a schedule loving Mama?? Who knows! But I have to say I am at the happiest I have been in a while, and that has to show for something.
