Snow Day Bored-ness = Sockpuppets!

If you have kids, then you have heard "I'm bored!" a million times! How kids can be bored with all of the  crayons, board games, toys, the Wii, the Nintendo DS, and movies that they have is beyond me! But I do understand having a blizzard hit and messing up their usual routine. Which in turn means there will be the snow day bored-ness.

If you are in this pinch, the following may save your kids from dying of being bored and save your ears from hearing anymore about it!

Sock Puppets

To the left is Button Eye Sockpuppet and to the right is Ned Sockpuppet.

All you need is:

-Old clean sock (I used ones that I couldn't find the matches to anymore)
-Assortment of buttons
-Thread (I used different colors for different eyes because I thought it looked cute)
-Needle
-Marker or Pen
-Scissors

I let the boys choose their socks and which eyes they would like. I had them put their hands into the sock and with the marker/pen I marked where I wanted to sew on the eyes (buttons).
Then just thread your needle with desired thread color and sew on the button.

This should buy you a few hours of free time. If you feel like joining in, make one for yourself and have a snow day puppet show!
