Your High-Ness

If you have seen the movie Dazed and Confused as many times as I have, then you may have a crush on the fashion in this movie like I do. I swear I should have been born in that era. There is always a little bit of hippy still in me no matter what style I am into at the moment. Fashion is repeating itself once again and the styles of the late 60's and 70's are coming back full swing. This brings me back to watching dazed and confused and loving the high waisted jeans that most of the girls wear in the movie.

I may be the only one who is excited about the fact that high waisted jeans and shorts are creeping back into the style stream. I may be ahead of the fashion game living in Indiana, or really missing the mark! But being a stay-at-home mom may equal to more high waisted mom-like jeans and old t-shirts, but not for this Mama! If I have to dress up just to take my kids to the stinkin' library then I will! My fashion conscience will not be faltered!

When I visited Michigan I mentioned before that I visited the mall. Which is such a rarity for me, but they have stores at their mall that we do not have in Indiana. I bought a pair if high waisted shorts at H&M. Even though it isn't warm enough to wear them, I did find some inspiring photos for future reference.

These are the exact shorts I got from forever21 and I cannot wait to wear them!

I know it seems so 5th grade, but I do love me some shorts with tights (not hooker thigh highs, just regular tights)!

H&M did have some high waisted jeans, but they were not my size (bummer). I did find some at Forever 21
and sha-bang! They were on sale for $9! I cannot find a picture of them, but I feel like Farrah Fawcett circa the 70's when I wear them along with my high heeled clogs.

But my husband said, jokingly, that when I wore my new purchase I reminded him more of Jerri Blank via Strangers With Candy.

Nice... But we all know I was more Farrah Fawcett like!

I do still love my skinny jeans and leggings, but I am so excited to see high waisted pants with bell bottoms and high waisted shorts! Is this the future of Indiana fashion? Only time will tell! Until then, I will still be sporting them whether they are in style or not. That's just how I roll I guess.
