There are always different ways of holding a clothing swap. Mine is completely FREE! All you do is go through your closets and bring items (jeans, skirts, pants, shirts, shoes, belts, purses, jewelry, etc.) that you just don't wear anymore, doesn't fit you anymore, or you just don't like it (hey, it may fit someone elses taste). Then you get to take home the clothes you like from the ones that others brought.
I like to have a couple of tables set up for the above mentioned items and a full length mirror to see what the items look like on themselves. I also provide some munchies and have everyone bring their own drinks.
Depending on the amount of people (and their willingness to actually take what they want without feeling bad) we switch the rules every time. This time we went by what month your birthday was in (starting in January) and you got to go first and pick 3 items. Once everyone got their turn to pick the 3 items they wanted, we had a 'free for all' and everyone got to look through all the clothes that were available.
One friend mentioned that it was kinda nice that no one was afraid to say that an item looked good or not so good on another person or if they really wanted that item if it didn't fit them. No arguing involved, which is always nice!
As I have said before, I am a pinterest.com FREAK! All of the food recipe I used were from pinterest. Here is the list of food I made from my Pinterest Boards:
Black bean, avocado, cucumber and tomato salad.
This was THE BEST thing I have eaten in a long time, and better yet, it is vegetarian! I will totally be making this again and again. I served it with Pita chips and/or tortilla chips.

Self frosting Nutella Cupcakes via The Family Kitchen
Warm Bean Dip (I added cream cheese to the bottom and black olives to the top, YUM!)

Fruit Salsa. Via The Girl Who Ate Everything
I was SO! excited to make and eat this later on and it had a little taste before letting it chill in the fridge.
With the rush of getting everything ready, I opened the fridge and the whole damn thing fell out of the fridge and fell on the floor! Totally ruined! I literally almost cried! So, that was a bust.
We ended up having so much fun and everyone took home some great clothes.
I hope you get a chance to recycle your clothes and get something cute and new to you at your own clothing swap.
My mind is brewing on a new type of swap. Maybe a fabric/sewing swap or maybe a fun swap with toys for the kids!
